Quick-start scenario: Configure a basic Internet gateway
A procedure to configure a basic Internet gateway in a new installation of Vyatta NOS.
This configuration scenario builds on Quick-start scenario: Basic system configuration — you must complete that procedure before you can proceed with this one.
- Ability to route traffic between the office LAN and the Internet
- Ability to access the system from the local network through SSH
- DHCP capability to provide dynamic IP addresses to internal devices
- NAT capability to translate multiple internal addresses to a single external address
- Firewall capability to prevent system access from the Internet
