Create a VPC
Before you can launch Vyatta NOS AMI, you must create a VPC for it.
For examples elsewhere in this guide, we assume that you have created a VPC and are logged on to the AWS Management Console.
Create a VPC with a single public subnet, as Amazon explains at Amazon VPC Getting Started Guide.
These steps create a VPC that provides for addresses in the range of 10.0.0.0/16 and a public subnet in the range of 10.0.0.0/24.
Examples elsewhere in this guide use these addresses — but other ranges of private IP addresses that are defined in RFC 1918 are also acceptable (10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, or 192.168.0.0/16).
