Granting service access to a user
Setting a username and password does not grant the alice user access to service. Users are not granted access to any service by default.
To grant access to OpenVPN for alice, you must give alice access to the vtun0 tunnel interface by entering the following command:
vyatta@vyatta#set openvpn vtun0 auth local user aliceThe alice user is now granted access to vtun0 and authenticated by the specified username and password.
Note: For OpenVPN, additional settings are required to allow authentication by the username and password. For details, see the “SSL-VPN Client Bundler” section in Ciena Vyatta Network OS OpenVPN Configuration Guide .
In general, granting or revoking access to any service does not require a restart of the service—that is, a service interruption.
