Specify the boot device in the system BIOS

You can configure the BIOS to specify the device from which to boot.

To specify the boot device:

  1. During the boot sequence press the appropriate key sequence, for example <F2>, to interrupt the boot sequence and enter the BIOS setup program for your system.
  2. In the boot sequence menu arrange the boot devices so that the device name is first in the list so that the system attempts to boot from it first.
Device names can be USB HDD for a USB stick or IDE or SATA for a compact Flash.
  3. Save the settings and reboot the system.
When the system restarts it boots from the device specified.
